I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how blissd Bodycare and possibly you are making a difference in people's lives.
When starting this project I knew I wanted to take a portion of the sales to help make a difference in other peoples lives. There are so many worthy causes and charities doing good work it was really hard for me to narrow down the long list of cause that appealed to me. Sometimes when that happens to me instead of making a decision that I find too hard I just do nothing at all. This does stop the immediate problem of picking but it just sits in my brain and niggles away. During this time of inaction I heard about an organization that I was not familiar with, KIVA. After looking into their organization it hit me, this was what I had been looking for, this was the one that resonated the loudest for me!
KIVA makes micro loans to people all over the world so that they can change their lives by fulfilling their dream "Dreams are universal, opportunity is not."By donating 5% of all sales from this website we are helping people change their circumstances and those of their family, neighbors and communities. As the saying goes; give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. The loans made have a 96.9% repayment rate, we will then re lend the money and any interest earned to another deserving project. This way our and your donation goes on and on. Now that is something to feel good about!
If you have read this far I encourage you to check out the link to their webpage at the bottom of this page.
A little about me, my name is Sheona Scott and I live in a beautiful small coastal community in British Columbia called Powell River. Our population is approx. 13,000 people so it is definitely small and I love it!
I have had a pretty interesting life so far in my 53 years. I was a single mother at age 20 and raised my son alone until I married my soulmate at age 32. So I know what it is like to struggle and to count every penny. Together my husband and I have worked hard and built our business from a small 2 person shop in a rented space to a large multifaceted business in a building we own. It was a lot of hard work and we started with a small angel investment of $25,000. This small investment allowed us to chase our dreams and live a comfortable lifestyle while creating employment for our community. So helping other people by investing in their dreams is the perfect fit.Dreams are universal, opportunity is not.
Lend as little as $25 to create opportunity
